DRIVE: A little over an hour’s drive from both airports. From Zurich Airport initially follow (Green) Motorway signs direction Bern/Basel... then direction Luzern. (From Basel Airport take 'A2 Luzern'.) Continue past Luzern, and ONLY then follow signs for 'Gotthard'. Exit at 'Stans Sud' (No. 33) and follow direction 'Engelberg.'

(Snow Chains or 4X4 are recommended in the Winter.)

TRAIN: There are regular trains from both Zurich and Basel Airports to Engelberg. “Intercity” train to Luzern then onto the delightful mountain train that takes you up the valley to Engelberg. Taxi from the station to Alphaven (Zelgli 44.)
Total journey time - approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

DIRECTIONS FROM ENGELBERG TO 'ALPHAVEN' :

Only one road into town... follow that until you hit a sharp right hand turn, 75 metres later, turn left (Monastery now on your right... YOU CAN'T MISS IT.) Follow road, it turns left after 150 Metres then turn right after another 75 Metres... You are now on "Schwand" (Strasse). This is a narrow road, follow it up the hill (approx. 600 Metres) look out for a sharp right turn-off into "Zelgli" (It is signposted) ... Follow our winding road up until you see the house "CHA CHA" directly in front of you, turn immediately left and after 50 metres we are the last house on the right ... number 44. You can park in the garage underneath.
